The Discoverer S/TMAXX features Cooper’s proven and trusted 3-ply “Armor-Tek3” carcass construction combined with a new, proprietary cut and chip resistant tread compound. With combination and its modern tread design, the S/TMAXX is destined to be a superior traction tyre that will perform in the toughest terrains while retaining remarkable on‑road traction and low noise characteristics. A computer optimised tyre profile shape and tread void distribution help assure balanced performance durability.
This Tyre Features:
Armor-Tek3 Carcass Construction
Cooper’s proven, class‑leading 3-ply Armor-Tek3 construction contributes to the durability of the S/TMAXX, against the old S/T. First by adding 66% strength to the sidewall cord, and secondly by using the patented 8 degree angle cover ply that adds over 2.5 times more tear resistance.
Super Tensile Steel Belt
The S/TMAXX has 15% higher than normal tensile strength which results in higher impact strength and puncture resistance.
Chemically Bonded Silica Tread Compound
The chemically bonded silica tread compound provides improved wet traction and handling on the highway, while also improving cut-n-chip resistance in harsher rocky and gravel terrain.
Proven Y Block Tread Pattern and Optimised Draft Angle
Maximises on and off-road grip and now provides remarkably low noise for a tyre of its class.
Micro-Gauge siping
Reduces the potential for stone retention and stone drilling into the tread elements and enhances wet bitumen traction.
Rut Guard Rib and Rim Protector
This is strategically placed in the upper sidewall area of the tyre to deflect objects, reduce sidewall damage, and also providing increased abrasion resistance.
Stone Ejector Ribs and Offset Stepped Tread
This helps discharge stones and reduces stone retention and stone drilling and increases their resistance to cutting and chipping.
Self-cleaning Alternating Shoulder Scallops
