While in the mud, sidebiters help to give traction and forward momentum. 23 degree directional tread design provides the optimum digging and self‑cleaning action.
Having Bias‑Belted tyres gives you the best of both worlds for high speed stages. Like radials, Bias‑Belted tyres give better road feel, stability at high speeds and they have tread strength to stop better than a conventional bias tyre. Although not as long lasting as a radial, Bias‑Belted tyres will also wear better than a conventional bias tyre.
The fibreglass belt in the tread area helps the case resist damage by having more strength in the tread area. The fibreglass belt is also sandwiched between the body plies to give extra resistance to delamination.
When in sand Bias and Bias‑Belted tyres have an advantage because there is no steel reinforcing in the tread area (like a radial) creating a bow wave for the tyre to push through. Bias tyres climb over the bow wave and run atop of the sand with greater ease.
