DOBBIN
WINS TUFF TRUCK 2002
Sydney engineer Glenn Dobbin, driving his highly modified FJ45 Toyota Landcruiser, has won the 2002 Tuff Truck Challenge. Held at Milbrodale, near Singleton, on 6th, 7th and 8th September, 35 year old Dobbin and his navigator, 29 year old Garth Hannaford, put on a great show to win the event easily from Peter Antunac (and his navigator Darren Lewis) in his highly modified FJ40 Landcruiser. Mechanical problems plagued Antunac who was second in last year's Tuff Truck event. Problems with transmission and steering caused Antunac to lose many points. His driving was still very outstanding. Both Dobbin and Antunac used 44 inch Super Swampers, using very low pressure (approx. 4 - 5 lb) with beadlocks on the rims. They put on a fantastic show for the huge crowd of around 5,000 spectators. Third outright was the Gosford crew of Paul & Neil Semmens in their GQ Patrol, using 38" Super Swampers. The two brothers both drove different tests. Other placegetters were: 4th Team Mad Shit Happens Again - Gordon Short and James Penman - Landcruiser
