LIFT LEAF & COIL SPRINGS
How do you know what to believe when every source lays claim to the most
durable and best riding leaf springs? Some manufacturers suggest that
they have reinvented the wheel. Actually, there have been no light truck/RV
spring design breakthroughs in many years. Comprehending how spring characteristics
differ, requires an understanding of spring rate. Rate, in the simplest
sense, is a measurement of the load required to compressive the spring
a given distance. In other words, it is a gauge of spring strengh and
flexibility. "X" amount of rate is required to support "X"
amount of weight. Rate is influenced by several factors, including material
specifications and thickness, leaf length, end configuration and inter-leaf
friction.
Developing
a good functional design involves closely evaluating the stock vehicle's
handling, ride, and body roll characteristics. We then alter our specifications
accordingly to give you an unsurpassed product matched to your particular
vehicle. On some applications there are two styles to choose from, Heavy
Duty or Superide.
SUPERIDE SHOCK ABSORBERS
Superide
shock absorbers are designed to provide the ultimate in ride quality,
durability and longevity. Ten-stage velocity sensitive valving allows
maximum control on the road or off, without sacrificing a comfortable
ride; the shock's resistance continually adjusts depending on the terrain
and vehicle speed. Features such as an oversized piston head with an O-ring
seal, heavy duty chrome hardened shaft, high fluid capacity twin tube
body, high performance multi-viscosity hydraulic fluid, and urethane bushings
ensure that these shocks can handle the toughest terrain.
An enduring high gloss white enamel finish offers good resistance to the elements and contrast to your choice of shock boot colours. Shock boots seal out harmful debris and provide protection against shaft pitting to extend seal life.
Superide shock absorbers carry the same limited lifetime warranty as our other, time-tested products.

ADD-A-LEAF
KITS
An add-a-leaf kit can be the ticket when only 1-1/2" to 2" of
lift is desired. You may consider front leafs to level the vehicle or
to cure the sag caused by a winch.
Rear add-a-leafs are also frequently used in conjunction with lift blocks
in a complete system to "beef up" the rear springs. Rear spring
fatigue is common among older vehicles, the wagon type models, and ones
that have been used for heavy towing.
LIMITING STRAPS
These
heavy nylon straps are used to limit your suspension's extension travel
before damage occurs from over extension. They should be installed so
they stop the suspension ½" to 1" before the shocks and/or suspension
"tops out". In many cases, they can be attached to the shock
mounting bolts; other applications will require drilling attaching holes.
Our straps feature an offset buckle so they can be attached to a flat
surface. The 99000 series have the top/bottom buckles' offset in the same
direction, the 98000 series ends are offset in opposite direction.
CAST IRON LIFT BLOCKS
These are the blocks used with our Lift Systems and Rear Block Kits. They
are made of cast iron, the material chosen by most vehicle manufacturers
for their axle spacers. All sizes are tapered to improve driveshaft angle
and alignment.
